Personalized Ways to Recognize Employee Achievement

There are many important components in running a thriving business, and one of them is realizing it is not done alone. Every successful company has at least one thing in common: The understanding that it would not be a successful company without skilled and dedicated employees. Many outstanding companies wisely believe that recognizing employee achievement adds value to the company's bottom line. Not only is recognizing the skill and dedication of employees one of the most effective ways to boost morale, implementing a creative employee recognition program is one of the best ways to spread best practices throughout the company.

Showing appreciation for employee achievement does not have to be complex, or break the bank. Not every company can afford big ticket incentives, but that should not hinder showing some form of appreciation. Every company can afford thoughtful, personalized certificates that highlight specific goals and achievements.

Acknowledging Best Employee Practices
Certificates of merit can call attention to best practices that you would like to see used throughout the company. Perhaps an employee is particularly skilled at dealing with clients or public relations; showing appreciation for that talent allows other employees consider their own skill set.

Every employee excels at something at which other employees might benefit taking a closer look. Many studies show that personal recognition of employee achievement enhances performance and spreads best practices. Because of that benefit, many companies choose many areas of recognition, such as:

• Organization
• Customer service
• Quality control
• Team Building
• Methodology

Employee Safety
Employee safety is a major concern for many companies. Unfortunately, particularly in jobs that require repetitive motion, jobs can become routine and safety is forgotten. When Safe practices must be reinforced frequently, morale can diminish. One way to avoid having to frequently remind workers of those safe standards and lowering morale is by recognizing those safe practices. Not every recognition has to have a big ticket item behind it. Often a creative, professional looking certificate, paired with a small incentive, recognizing employee achievement is very much appreciated. Recognizing safety issues can be a huge benefit for the employer:

• Reduces waste
• Reduces job costs
• Reduces accidents
• Reduces litigation

Increases Communication
Everyone likes to know that their hard work is noticed and appreciated by their employers. When the employer takes the time to publically appreciate the talents which make the company run well, it keeps the employees and employers connected.

• Giving those achievements visibility makes everyone aware of the standards of which to perform.
• Builds a sense of teamwork
• Can evoke friendly competition
• Provides valuable feedback
• Lets employees know that their job, as well as your own is important
• Provides guidance without having to micromanage
• Promotes employee development

Few people remain satisfied in a job unless they know that they are doing the job well and that their efforts are worthwhile. Few remain in jobs that are just paychecks. The use of creative certificates of merit as part of an employee recognition program is a valuable component of every successful enterprise.
